Shopping with Grok Bot (November 2026): cards, Vault checkout, price drops, and order tracking (unofficial guide)

Changelog v0.78.1 (Oct 27, 2026) added shopping cards, product pages with Buy now (you approve), shipment tracking, Shop Pay in Vault, and templates for order concierge and deal watching. Shopping results can show as product cards; Buy now starts an order you approve; after an order the Bot can track shipping.

Grok Bot changelog v0.78.1 (Oct 27, 2026) added shopping cards, product pages with Buy now (you approve), shipment tracking, Shop Pay in Vault, and templates for order concierge and deal watching. This guide covers what the official shopping launch does, how to shop safely, and how to use price-drop and order-tracking jobs without inventing savings stats.

The short answer

Shopping results can show as product cards (photo, rating, price, store, badges). Product pages surface in-stock options first; Buy now starts an order you approve. After an order, the Bot can track shipping and show carrier and stage on shipment cards (x.ai/changelog/bot, v0.78.1).

Payments live in Settings → Vault (cards, Shop Pay, Link, X Money, default payment method). Prefer Ask first rules for purchases, and one-time or low-limit cards if you want a hard spend cap — there is no separate store-spend meter we found.

Templates called Order Concierge and Deal Watcher are described in the changelog as tracking orders/refunds/returns and watching prices and coupons, never buying without your OK.

What the official shopping launch includes

Product cards and carousels for multi-result searches; swipeable product photos.

Product pages with option availability; Buy now starts an order you approve.

Order tracking after purchase: ship/arrive notices; shipment cards with carrier and stage.

Vault Payments tab: connect Shop Pay; pick default payment method; you still approve purchases per changelog wording.

Related templates: Try it don't pay for it (trial cancel/remind), Find unused subscriptions, Watch subscription prices, Order Concierge, Deal Watcher.

Safe shopping flow

1. Compare: ask for a table with total price (item + tax + shipping), delivery date, return policy, and store link. Skip or hand back sites that block agents.

2. You pick: choose the store and options. Say your max total.

3. Cart and stop: build the cart, show merchant / items / total, then wait.

4. You approve: Allow the purchase. Complete bank verification / CAPTCHA with Take over yourself.

5. Track: keep order number, total, and store in a note; let shipment cards update you. Before any retry after a timeout, check email and the store order page for an existing order.

Price-drop and deal watching

Ask the Bot (or Deal Watcher template) to watch a product URL or SKU and alert when the listed price falls below your number — without buying.

Confirm the price on the store page before you Allow a purchase. Screenshot or quote the price in the approval note.

Coupons expire. Have it re-check the code at checkout time.

Order tracking and returns

After Buy now, ask it to confirm the order number and start tracking. Changelog: it tells you when the order ships or arrives.

For refunds and returns, draft the request and approve before anything is sent. Changelog notes that when asked what happens if an order goes wrong, the Bot should cite only protections it has actually read.

Amazon and other retailers may block automated agents. Don't ask the Bot to work around a block; buy elsewhere or take over yourself.

Caveats from official sources

Changelog says you approve every purchase; Cursor Vault help says a saved card can fill at checkout without a separate approval each time. Until those match, don't save a card you wouldn't want used without asking, and add Always Ask for purchases.

Vault covers the whole account — every Bot can use a saved card.

Elon's Oct 15, 2026 post about SpaceX making users whole for purchase mistakes is a post, not a written policy we found in the docs. Keep card-issuer dispute rights.

What you need

Steps

  1. Update the app. Open Settings → Vault and decide whether to save a card.
  2. Add Always Ask for purchases and payments.
  3. Run a compare → pick → cart-and-stop → approve → track flow on one low-stakes item.
  4. Optionally start a Deal Watcher job for a price ceiling with buy disabled until Allow.
  5. Review card activity after the first few Bot purchases.

Prompt to copy

Shop for [item] within $[budget], delivered by [date]. Show product cards or a comparison table with store, total (tax+shipping), delivery date, return policy, and link. Do not buy yet. After I pick one, open the product page, choose [options], build the cart, and stop with merchant, items, and total. Wait for my Allow before Buy now. After purchase, confirm the order number and track shipment (carrier and stage). If a site blocks you or needs a code, hand it to me with Take over. If checkout errors, check email and the store order page before retrying. For price watch: alert me if [product] drops below $[price]; never buy on a watch without a new Allow.

Tips

FAQ

What did the Grok Bot shopping launch add?

Per changelog v0.78.1 (Oct 27, 2026): shopping cards, product pages with Buy now you approve, order tracking with shipment cards, Shop Pay in Vault, and templates like Order Concierge and Deal Watcher.

Will it buy without asking?

Changelog says Buy now starts an order you approve and deal/order templates never buy without your OK. Vault help is stricter about saved cards filling without a separate prompt — use Always Ask and avoid saving cards you don't want auto-filled.

Can it track my order?

Yes. After you place an order, the Bot tracks it and can show carrier and stage on shipment cards.

Can it watch for a price drop?

Yes as a watch-and-alert job (Deal Watcher / your own routine). Keep purchase behind a separate Allow.

Does Amazon work?

Users reported Amazon blocking agents in Oct 2026. Don't bypass blocks; try another store or take over.

Is this official?

No. Independent and unofficial; not affiliated with or endorsed by xAI, Grok, X, or Cursor.
