Grok Bot for recruiters: an AI agent to source candidates
Short answer
For recruiters, Grok Bot can build a candidate shortlist from sources you name, draft Boolean strings and interview scorecards, track candidates from your inbox into a pipeline table, write a brief before each intake or screening call, draft interview scheduling emails from your calendar, and flag candidates who are waiting on a reply. It uses connectors like Gmail, Calendar, and Notion and a browser, runs on a schedule as routines, and leaves every message as a draft for you to approve.
Grok Bot is xAI's desktop agent, which is different from the Grok chatbot (the Grok chat app). This page is part of Grok Use Cases, an independent, unofficial site. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by xAI, Grok, X, or Cursor.
Prompts to copy for recruiters
Paste one into your Bot, swap the brackets for your details, and check the first result before you schedule it.
Candidate pipeline sweep
Every weekday at 8:00, read new emails in Gmail labeled [Candidates]. Add or update a row in my Notion database [link] for each candidate: name, role, stage, last contact date, and next step. Flag anyone waiting on me for more than 3 days.
Screening call brief
I'm screening [candidate] for [role] at [time]. Using their CV (attached) and the job description [link], give me a one-page brief: relevant experience, gaps to ask about, five screening questions, and anything in the CV I should verify.
Boolean string and scorecard
From this job description [link or text], write two Boolean search strings (one broad, one narrow) and an interview scorecard with five criteria, what good looks like for each, and a 1-4 scale. Draft for my review.
Interview scheduling drafts
Find three 45-minute slots next week when both I and [hiring manager] are free on Calendar. Draft an email to [candidate] offering those times. Save it as a draft; don't create the event until they pick.
Intake meeting prep
I have an intake call with [hiring manager] for [role]. Read the job post, our past emails, and the team page on their site. List what's unclear in the brief (must-haves, salary range, location, process) as questions for the call.
Candidate follow-up
List candidates in my pipeline who interviewed more than 5 days ago and haven't had an update. Draft a short, honest status email for each. Drafts only.
Weekly hiring report
Every Friday at 15:00, count candidates by stage for each open role in my Notion database and write a one-page summary for my client. If a number is missing, write 'missing' instead of guessing.
Interview prep for a candidate
Draft an interview prep note for [candidate] for [role] at [company]: what the company does with links, the interview format I gave you, and three questions they could ask. I'll review before sending.

FAQ
Can Grok Bot source candidates for me?
It can build a shortlist from sources you name and draft outreach for you to approve, including overnight as a routine. If it browses LinkedIn with your login, sites can block automation or restrict accounts, so follow the site's terms and don't mass-message.
Will Grok Bot auto-message candidates?
Not unless you approve it. Keep sends behind an approval step (ask first) and have it save messages as drafts.
Can Grok Bot write Boolean search strings and interview scorecards?
Yes, as drafts. For live search inside an ATS or sourcing tool, it needs a connector or a site it can log into; check what your Bot can connect to before you rely on it.
How is Grok Bot different from ChatGPT for recruiting?
Grok Bot keeps named Bots, skills, and scheduled routines on a persistent cloud computer, so a pipeline sweep can run every morning without you starting it. A chat app is better for one-off questions.
What about candidate privacy and GDPR?
Only give it candidate data you're allowed to process, use connectors you approve rather than pasting CVs into public chats, and keep the hiring decision with you. You remain accountable for the data. This is not legal advice.
Is there an official Grok Bot recruiting template?
Not a template as such. xAI's guide Grok Bot for Recruiting (Sep 24, 2026, https://x.ai/bot/guides/grok-bot-for-recruiting) describes example recruiting bots: interview prep, scorecard drafting, overnight sourcing into your ATS with outreach drafts you approve, and interview loop analysis. This page is independent and unofficial, and the free skill below is ours, not xAI's.
Is this page affiliated with xAI or Grok?
No. This page is part of Grok Use Cases, an independent, unofficial site. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by xAI, Grok, X, or Cursor. Grok Bot is xAI's desktop agent, which is different from the Grok chatbot (the Grok chat app).
