Create Grok Bot skills with Teach a task
Turn a workflow into a reusable skill, either by saving a successful run or by recording a browser demonstration with Teach a task.
What you need
- A task you've already done once with the Bot, or a browser workflow under ten minutes
Steps
- Option A: after a good run, ask the Bot to save it as a skill with inputs, steps, output format, and 'never do' rules.
- Option B: open the Bot's computer view and choose Teach a task (if available on your account).
- Describe the result you're about to demonstrate, then do the workflow in the browser. Recordings max out at ten minutes.
- Stop the recording and review the draft skill the Bot writes.
- Test the skill on a safe example before scheduling it.
Prompt to copy
Save what we just did as a skill called [name]. Include the inputs, numbered steps, the output format, and the rule that you never send or delete anything without asking me.
Tips
- Skills are available to all your Bots, but a Bot may still need the right connector or login.
- Teach a task is rolling out gradually, so you may not see it yet.
FAQ
