Grok Bot not working? Outages and troubleshooting

What to do when your Bot's screen won't load, a task stalls, or the app shows 'Can't reach the screen', including what happened in the Oct 14, 2026 outage.

What you need

Steps

  1. Check whether it's widespread: look for recent posts about Grok Bot on X and check Cursor's status page.
  2. If there's an incident, wait rather than retrying over and over. Repeated retries can waste usage and step on half-finished work.
  3. If it's only you, close and reopen the app, check your connection, and ask the Bot what it last completed.
  4. For a stuck routine, open the Bot → View conversation details → Routines, pause it, and use Test run once things are back.
  5. When things recover, ask the Bot to check the current state of its work (files, drafts, open tabs) before continuing.
  6. If a login expired or a site needs a CAPTCHA, the Bot should hand that step to you. That isn't a bug.

Something went wrong earlier. Tell me the last step you finished for [task], what's half-done, and what you'd need to redo. Don't repeat any send, post, or purchase step.

Tips

FAQ

Is Grok Bot down?

Check Cursor's status page and recent posts on X. On Oct 14, 2026 there was a roughly five-hour computer-access outage, which was resolved the same day.

Why does my Grok Bot say it can't reach the screen?

Usually the Bot's cloud computer can't be reached, either because of a service incident or a connection problem. Check status first, then restart the app.
